You know you can never go wrong with Kay Arthur!
This book is a great book to help lead you through the why’s of your hurt. So often, I think we get caught up in our pain and we cannot seem to get out of it. Kay leads the reader through a scriptural journey of why God allows pain in our lives.
She helps the reader look at their pain through a spiritual lens instead of a worldly one. When we look at scripter and really dig into why God might allow our pain, I think it is easier to navigate through it.
Kay also points out that the people in her life who demonstrate such faith in times of trails may just be that was because their pain has brought them to the cross to deal with it. I loved that.
One important point Kay makes is that when we are in the worst of our pain, we are not alone. No matter how bad we think we are, we are not alone, in fact God is right there with us. The illustration she uses is Daniel and the fiery furnace and the fourth man.
I enjoyed this book. I felt like Kay helped the reader to see her journey through her own pain. This seems to always offer help to those of us who look at someone and think they have it all together. When someone like Kay can share her disappointments and pain, it makes us all feel like maybe we are not so alone in our pain.
I recommend this book to anyone who is working through some pain in their lives and wants some help seeing it from a different perspective. Kay will use God’s word to offer healing and encouragement!
NOTE : I was offered a copy of When the Hurt Runs Deep, at no cost from Waterbrook Press, in exchange for an honest review.
