Book Review : Living with Confidence in a Chaotic World

Here is another book review for your reading pleasure!

What a great book!

Living with Confidence in a Chaotic World

In “Living with Confidence in a Chaotic World,” Dr. David Jeremiah addresses the unrest going on in our country, and really, around the globe, in this amazing book that ultimately points our peace and attitude back to God. He asks “What on earth should we do now?”

Now that we have lost jobs, homes, savings, and so much more. Where do we go? He goes through a list of C’s of which we are supposed to stay : calm, compassionate, constructive, challenged, connected, centered, confident and consistent. Some of these are clearly harder to do than others. However, Dr. Jeremiah challenges us through each “C” to stay true to our calling.

I enjoyed this book. I always enjoy Dr. Jeremiah, his practical, sound wisdom, and guidance to help steer us in the right direction. He points out that once upon a time we were able to stay calm in this world, in the midst of our wealth, but that really we are called to a spirit of calm today no matter what our income, bank account, or lifestyle is.

I really love that Dr. Jeremiah tears apart scripture a word at a time in some instances, he offers a deeper understanding of the intent of the text and not just what we interpret it to mean with our modern day language. Over and over we are pointed back to the Bible, to find our comfort, to find wisdom, and guidance. He helps us to really get grounded in the word so that we are able to deal with what is going on around us, and so that we can in turn offer that peace, hope, and message to those around us who do not understand what is happening.

I highly recommend this book for anyone who is wondering how in the world we are supposed to process all that is going on, or cope with the situations we are faced with. Dr. Jeremiah is very encouraging and inspiring, as always!
