183 Ways to Lose Guilt and Find Joy

Guilt! She pokes you as you write about your quaint, eccentric aunt. She grabs you as you wander from e-mail to Facebook to laundry instead of focusing on your work. She kicks you as you complain about your husband to a friend.

Book Review : Turning Guilt Trips into Joy Rides

Are you looking for a devotion book that is perfect for the busy life?  Want to jump into the word and glean some insight and wisdom?  Do you feel like guilt is the gift that keeps on giving?  I have a great book for you!

GT cover

I felt like this book meets you where you are, takes you hand, and leads you deeper in your walk with the Lord.  It is full of quick devotions that will cause you to think about some things and examine how you feel about others.   The main point of the book is to take off the cloak of guilt and jump into a life of joy.  This is a point that resonates with so many of us, and one that we need to be reminded of, often!

Travel Day 1 & 2 : Disney 2012

We were so excited to travel to Florida a bit early to see some family along the way.  We made it to Mississippi the first day and enjoyed the afternoon with my uncle and aunt.  As a treat, the neighbor invited us over to swim after picking up some sticks!  It was such a treat!!

One of our First stops was when

we crossed the Mississippi state line.

HCLS Wrap Up

We had so much fun during the Henderson County Livestock Show – these pictures are of the younger Clover Kids getting to do the Pee Wee show.  E showed a pig and AG showed a rabbit. It was simple, but the kids had lots of fun!

Stock show Fever

Oh my, I am worn out!!

This week we have been participating in the Henderson County Live Stock Show!  It has been a lot of work, a lot of fun, and very rewarding!

We participated in the Project Show – each child signed up for a project (weaving, wood work, necklace, etc) and a food project.  We got all the food done and in, but not all the other stuff.  So J earned a Blue Ribbon for his Jelly – and P earned 2 Red Ribbons : 1 for a cake and 1 for a paracord key chain.  E and A earned participation ribbons for their food and projects.  Overall Fun!

Next was the Broiler Show.  If you remember, about 6 weeks ago our broilers arrived (about 2 days old) and grew up quickly.  We had friends help us with several aspects, and we decided to try to implement some of what we learned last year.  So when a friend of a friend showed up Thursday night to help us pick our birds – I was a bit dejected.  He said they were okay, but we had a lot of improvements to make.  He said what we were doing was not enough.  Bummer.

Spring Pics of my gang

It has been ages since I have taken some good, intentional pics of my gang.  But the other day, right before heading out to pic strawberries, I was able to catch a few great shots!

If you are like me, you rejoice (just a but) when those low clouds hang around on picture day!  great light, but no glare or squinty eyes!  That was our day Tuesday morning.  Here are the results!!

Strawberry Pickin’

What a fun morning we had on Tuesday!  We trekked out with 8 kiddos to pick some strawberries!

Not sure if we ate more, or picked more!
