I have done my fair share of Beth Moore Bible studies, I have to admit. I love her style to teaching, I love how she digs so deep! I just love working through her workbook and video with a group. I always walk away feeling like I learned a tremendous amount of Bible history and truth!!
I recently was able to get a copy of A Heart Like His, by Beth Moore. It has recently been re-released in paperback. Let me just say, it will not disappoint you. Unless, well, unless you are not a fan of David – and honestly, who is not a fan of David? Is he not one of your favorite Bible heroes?
It could me my house of boys that gives me a tender heart for this man who loved God with all his heart. I have three little (well not all so little) boys who LOVE David. They are inspired by a man who sought God, but who did make mistakes. And that is why I love David.
I soaked this book up! I love the entire story of David, and I loved that Beth takes you from the first scene through every other one until the end. She does not just spend time in one area of his life; instead, she did deep in every area! I love that about her!
I don’t care how many times you have studied David – there is always more good stuff to find when you really spend some time with him. Beth gets you to really slow down and spend some great time looking at who he was, what he did and what those choices did to him.
This book is broken down into 52 chapters – but they are very easy to read. This would be a great book to walk through with a group of friends, or alone – either way you will glean some great things from David’s life!
There were so many great lines, or nuggets of truth that Beth shares with you, I promise you will be highlighting, underlining, or starring many sections so you can look back and remember!
I highly recommend this book, I loved reading it and I cannot wait to share it with my boys as they get a bit older. I love to be reminded of how God loved this man, and how David lived his life, trying to honor the God he loved!
