We love to be in Maine for Friendship Day! It was Jacob’s first balloon when he was less than a year in 2001. Seems so long ago. Well we were able to go to Friendship day again this year and it has not changed very much at all! It was so much fun to walk around the booths and talk to many Maine crafters, glean a few ideas and purchase a couple treasures.
I think one of the best parts was the 1 mile fun run the boys participated in at 7am – PJ came in 4th overall – JB came in a couple kids later and then ED came along running too. The boys loved the run and just participating!
We followed the run with some yummy pancakes at the church pancake breakfast. It was a fun day!
Our all time favorite part is the touch tank!! The kids did this for the first time 2 years ago – and we were so ecited to see we would be about to do it again! The kids got to hold lobsters, star fish, scuplin (they caught him twice), flounder, cod fish, many snails, crab and too much to remember
The parade was lots of fun along with some free popcorn.
After our morning at the Friendship Day celebration we headed to The Gut – this is our “favorite” place to buy lobster for dinner. We paid about 4.25$ per pound : 7 lobsters $34 – amazing!!
Here we are with cooler in hand ready to get dinner….
Smelly lobster traps – but some cute kids!!
Papa is cooking supper!
Kids ready to dig in!!
What a great day in Maine!! The way Life should BE!!
