Who knew? When I met Robert 19 years ago that we would be sitting here with 4 kids, 7+ acres, 15 hens, 2 roosters, 3 turkeys, 2 guineas, a few cats and 2 dogs? Not me!! And I am pretty sure not him.
Yet, here we are. Celebrating our anniversary with our 4 kids at the Corsicana movie theater watching Cars 2. Does it get any better than that, honestly? I am not sure it does!

It has been a journey these last 14 years, lots of challenges those first few years! But I am a firm believer that we go through difficult times to show us who we really are, who we can be, and what really matters.
When you are figuring out the married thing as a young couple and you are only under the same roof for 14 of 36 months during the first several years, you know you have faced some tough times and made it through. That was us. We were deployed so much at Ft Campbell that we were rarely home to work through challenges we were facing.
Did you know it is easier to say goodbye to someone for a month or so, when you are angry with them? I did. I figured it out early and I did not like saying goodbye. We both learned so much about ourselves and watched our faith grow through those years, that I honestly would not trade them for anything.
So, many years later, a few kids later, and too many moves later – we do not fight much at all. We seem to have gotten much of that out in those early years, thankfully!! I think when life settles down, a bit, and you have learned what is really important, it is easier to let the little things go.
Marriage is such an amazing journey, especially when you are journeying together with a wonderful partner, heading to the same destination, and trust in a Big God!! It has been a great 14 years, and I know it will be many, many more!!
Congratulations on 14 years!!! That's a long time. I pray you have so many more happy years together. Miss you, girlie!!!
