Weekly Wrap Up : July 15th

The Homeschool Mother's Journal
In my life this week…

We have had a good week here in our neck of the woods.  Monday we ate turkey for supper – Thanksgiving – our turkey.  You can see more about it HERE.

We enjoyed seeing friends this week too, we loved blue berry picking with a bunch of friends!!  Then we invited some friends over to make some jam and play!

So it has been a fun week, all in all.

In our homeschool this week…

I have started really getting organized.  The kids are still working on getting into the routine of math every day, and handwriting too.  I feel just about prepared – of course we start in 2 weeks, so not too much time to really plan!  But I am getting excited!!

I am reading …

Kay Arthur’s When the Pain Runs Deep – very good read.  Another therapeutic one!

I did check out Winnie the Pooh from the library for my youngest and we are thoroughly enjoying this OLD version!  Love the writing, so much better than Disney’s version!!

My favorite thing this week was…

Date day!!  It has been way too long since Robert and I have had some time to ourselves – and thanks to a wonderful friend, we were able to get away for most of the day Friday!!  We got to see a movie (The Green Lantern), lunch at Sonic (thanks to a gift-card in the mail), a stroll around Fresh (and some new tea), and finally some frozen yogurt!!  It was such a nice day to have some time just us!!

Things I’m working on…

Building Binders for all my students, early versions are done for my oldest two, but I realize I need to add some more info and build a few more for the younger group.  I am also working on my Main Binder for myself – to track school and household stuff.  I am almost done with this and really looking forward to having all that great info in one place!

What is coming up ….

We are having our 1st round of Camp Cole this week with cousins coming on Wednesday.  I think we are all looking forward to some fun days with cousins and lots of playing!!  We are going to do lots of fun “science” stuff in the kitchen and lots of outside fun stuff too!!  The week after we have round 2 – it is going to be a fun 2 weeks!!

  1. Wow! I'm not sure I could eat any animals that I grow! I know it's done, but they become pets to us! LOL We have chickens walking around the house sometimes! How crazy are we?! LOL

Blueberry picking starts in a few weeks around here. Love berries!

Thanks for stopping in my blog! S and C went to Track camp for the first time this week. C thought it was so-so, but S can't wait to do it again!
