Next book up for review:
You’re Already Amazing by Holley Gerth
If you are just now hearing about Holley Gerth, let me tell you, you are going to love her! She can work wonders with a few simple words! I have enjoyed reading her conversations with blogger and author Ann Voskamp on both of their blogs. So when I had the chance to read this book, I eagerly accepted!!
Holley takes a straight forward approach to convincing us that no matter who we are, where we are, or what is going on in our lives, we are loved by an amazing God. I think, it is easy for us to get caught up in the normal things of life, and when that happens we forget that simple message. She explores why we forget to feel loved, how we need to get connected to others to feel and share that love, and then leaves us with reminders of how we can continue to rest in that love.
Holley has a way of encouraging you, of being honest and real about subjects that we sometimes want to avoid.
I really enjoyed this book. I would not say that I suffer from a great deal of insecurities, no more than the average person. However, I felt like Holley’s words were like cool water to my thirsty soul. This is a book that every woman will enjoy reading and will feel inspired by.
I loved that she even offers a few tools along the way to dig a bit deeper into who you are and what makes you tick. If you are not sure of your personality, she will help lead you through a few things to figure that out. She draws from her wealth of knowledge as a licensed counselor, which I felt gave her an amazing
Overall, I felt like Holley has the gift of encouragement, and this book is a huge dose of God centered encouragement! I loved this book and would recommend it as a must read!! Also look for Holley’s greeting cards at DaySpring or read more of her thoughts at her blog Heart to Heart with Holley.
Also, if you are reading this in March 2012, you can join the (in)courage blog community as they study Holley’s book! Check it out to see the intro video with Holley!!
NOTE: I was offered a copy of You’re Already Amazing, in exchange for an honest review, by Revell Publishers.
